IN-EUR “Measuring INnovation among EURopean Subregions”

IN-EUR is a regional initiative project financed under the INTERREG IVC Programme, Priority 1 “Innovation and the knowledge economy”, Intervention Area “Innovation, research and the technology development”.

The project total budget is 1,381,701.88 EUR. The duration of the project is 36 months and the implementation period is from January 2012 until the end of 2014.

The overall objective of IN-EUR is to improve the quality of local level innovation policy through sharing, integrating and applying methodologies for the measurement of innovation in European sub-regions by means of interregional cooperation.

The project specific objectives are: to share, adapt and apply the existing models for measuring local innovation; to enlarge local and interregional cooperation on the overall theme and on specific models; to verify the model’s effectiveness through extensive local participation; to mainstream the ALBI model into local policy.

IN-EUR groups 9 partners, representing 8 EU regions: South-East Regional Development Agency/Romania (Lead Partner); Province de Lucca/Italy; Lithuanian Innovation Centre/Lithuania; Local Councils’ Association Malta/Malta; Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia /Slovenia; Bautzen Innovation Centre/Germany; Chamber of Commerce and Industry Marseille Provence/France; Roscommon County Council/Ireland; WESTBIC-Business and Innovation Centre/Ireland.

SERDA is involved in the following activities: coordination of project activities and ensure continuous communication between partners; identify existing methodologies and indicators for measuring local innovation; exchange of good practices between project partners in the field of local innovation management; experimentation of an advanced model for measuring local innovation and developing of an implementation plan for this new model; organization of local/regional promotion events, involving key regional stakeholders and transferring good practices identified at European level; promotion of the project results.
